Hello, Ibrahim Sani Mustapha! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
Listings are not put in articles for entire states. If a market in Gusau is not listed in the Gusau article, list it there. If it's particularly great, you absolutely can mention it in the Zamfara State article, but use prose (a sentence or two) and say why it's notable and great. Don't give address information about it, but feel free to link its name to Gusau#Buy.
Let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:55, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Also, "adding words" is a totally useless edit summary. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:43, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi. I'm seeing you add templated listings for dishes like jollof rice and foodstuffs like cornmeal in city articles. That's not what "Eat" listings are for. If there are particularly great places to get jollof rice in a particular city, list them. If there are any local specialties, mention them in prose, possibly with bullets, in an introduction to the "Eat" section.
Please reply to this post, showing us that you read it, and please ask any questions you like. Thanks!
Best,
I'm sorry, but I blocked you for an initial period of 3 days for totally ignoring your user talk page and, far from fixing the mistakes I mentioned, continuing to add more of them. Will you now finally read my remarks and reply, showing either that you understand them or what you don't understand about them? Thank you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:45, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry Ikan Kekek. Apologies for not seeing your message until today. I appreciate you pointing out the mistake I was making, and now I understand what 'Eat' means. I have made the necessary corrections to continue contributing effectively. Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 14:02, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'll unblock you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:27, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- thank you very much Ikan Kekek insha Allah i will not make the same mistake again. Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 04:58, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- you just did make the same mistake again. wycsi: Sleep listings go in their cities' articles, and nowhere else. Ibaman (talk) 13:58, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder. I'll make sure to place sleep listings only in their respective city articles going forward. Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 15:27, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

I have fixed a number of long-standing and recent errors in the Jos article - see today's edit history and this edit. In particular, please note the correct format for adding telephone numbers, including the country code. -- 78.151.51.152 21:57, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the corrections and the helpful reminder about formatting telephone numbers. I’ll make sure to follow the correct format, including the country code, in future edits. Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 04:56, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Also please be a bit more careful what you link. You linked Jos in the Jos article; you also linked the word "zoo" and a street name. Why are you doing that? Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:54, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback. I understand now that linking the article title and generic terms like "zoo" or a street name isn't necessary. I’ll be more careful with internal links going forward and focus on linking only relevant travel topics. I appreciate the guidance! Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 06:01, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Linking the article to itself is a circular link and accomplishes nothing but bolding the name. Also, when you start a new city article, use the Wikivoyage:Quick small city article template and don't forget to put the article next up in the Wikivoyage:Breadcrumb navigation hierarchy in "IsPartOf". See this edit. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:05, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification and for pointing out the circular link—I understand now that it's unnecessary. I’ll make sure to use the Quick small city article template when creating new articles, and I’ll properly include the correct parent region in the "IsPartOf" section as shown in the breadcrumb navigation. I appreciate your help and the example edit! Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 06:13, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sure thing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:21, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- What are you doing? I'm sorry, but this is the last warning before you get blocked again, and this block would be for 2 weeks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:48, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- To be fair, that edit was made some 75 and 64 minutes before you posted about circular links in this thread. I tidied it up around an hour after your initial warning. -- 78.151.51.152 09:31, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification — I hadn’t noticed the timing initially. I appreciate you tidying it up afterward. All good now. Ibrahim Sani Mustapha (talk) 09:46, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking and clarifying that. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:12, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
