Hello, Casabaya! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.

If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage.

Hi Ikan Kekek,
Thanks for your message and for maintaining the integrity of the Wikivoyage platform.
I understand and respect the guidelines around avoiding promotional content. However, I noticed that the Spain article includes a mention of Custo Barcelona, along with a detailed list of locations and even a link to their store. My recent addition of Crystal Abaya Studio to the UAE article followed that same structure and intention—to inform travelers about notable local fashion brands that may not be widely known internationally but are relevant for those shopping while visiting the UAE.
Could you kindly clarify the difference between that entry and mine? My goal is not to promote, but to contribute useful, travel-relevant content consistent with existing entries. If there's a better or more neutral way to word the addition, I’d be happy to collaborate and revise accordingly.
Thanks again, Casabaya (talk) 11:49, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
First of all, look at the difference between the wording of the listings. No-one could say any of the language in the listing you mention is promotional, whereas your listing was promotional. But the other thing is, if you want to argue that designer abayas are not a niche item for Wikivoyage's audience and merit a listing for just your business in an article for an entire country, start a thread at Talk:United Arab Emirates and see if you can convince a consensus. I don't think any appreciable number of Wikivoyagers are traveling in order to buy your particular kind of abaya. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:00, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
