Climate[edit]

Seville has a warm Mediterranean climate with an annual average temperature of 18.5 °C. Winters are generally mild while summers are hot. The maximum temperatures in summer often surpass 40 °C. The village of Écija is popularly known as the “Frying Pan of Andalusia” for its torrid summers.

Seville is very well connected to the rest of Spain and the world via motorways, railways and airports.

By plane[edit]

Sevilla Airport (SVQ IATA) is 10 km northeast of centre of the city of Seville on the A-4 highways. It has flight connections from over destinations around Europe and Northern Africa, and serves as a base for the low-cost carriers Vueling and Ryanair.

By train[edit]

Seville is connected to the high-speed AVE network operated by Renfe (state railway company). You can quickly reach Seville from Madrid, Barcelona and many other cities.

By bus[edit]

You can take the bus to Seville from almost all cities in Andalusia.

By car[edit]

The A-4 highways to Córdoba, A-92 to Málaga and Granada, A-49 to Huelva, A-66 to Mérida and Cáceres and AP-4 to Jerez de la Frontera and Cádiz run through the province.
