Okobo is in Akwa Ibom State, South South Nigeria.

Okobo counts as one of the local government areas located in south corner of Akwa Ibom state senatorial zone with its capital administrative headquarters in Okopedi town having the districts of Atabong, Ebughu, Eta, Ibighi, Odu, Okiuso and Ukwong. It thus forms a federal constituency together with Oron, Urue, Mbo Udung Uko and Offong/Oruko local government areas.
