Understand[edit]

Church of the Holy Trinity

Nowadays Vsevolozhsk is an industrial town of some 60,000, with many inhabitants commuting into Saint Petersburg. Two of the main employers in the 2010s were Ford (of USA) and Nokian Renkaat (of Finland).

Historically this was Ingrian countryside with the estates of Priyutino and Ryabovo, the latter belonging to the noble family of Vsevolozhsky. The settlement growing around Vsevolozhskaya railway station was the first settlement in Russia where street gas lamps were installed. In the early 20th century, the area became a getaway for people of Saint Petersburg.
