Welcome![edit]

Welcome[edit]

Hello, Zhuo1221! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals. Format[edit]

Please do not give county, city or province in listings. Or give names in UPPERCASE. Pashley (talk) Pashley (talk) 11:46, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don't add encyclopedic content, respect copyright, and when to use spaces[edit]

Hi, Zhuo1221. These edits are mostly not useful in a travel guide. Please read Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians and goals and non-goals. In particular, this kind of stuff is unlikely to be interesting to travelers:

"Kaifeng City is about 92 kilometres wide from north to south and 126 kilometres longest from east to west, with a total area of 6,239 square kilometres.By the end of 2022, the resident population will be 4,694,000, with an urban population of 2,512,700 and an urbanisation rate of 53.53%."

Really, who cares? Is that something that would make anyone interested in visiting?

Moreover, did you copy and paste it from somewhere, in violation of the site's copyright and the Wikivoyage:Copyleft policy?

Also, please make sure to put a space after every period.

Thank you, please ask questions if anything confuses you after you've looked at the links I gave you, and please reply, indicating that you've read this message. Thanks again and all the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:38, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also please have a look at this edit and edit summary. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:35, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to reinforce the comments I made on November 3, 2023. Zhuo1221, please reply, and most importantly, please tell us whether you are copying and pasting text from anywhere. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:52, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover, I'd like you to respect the edits I made and at least discuss whether it's best to put longer text I cut down back into articles. For example, if you believe it's helpful to travelers to re-add the text I edited in this edit, please start a thread on the Talk:Kaifeng page instead of just ignoring my edits and putting all the text back. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:09, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also look at this edit. I'm sorry if I seem hard on you, but you have seemingly completely ignored every attempt to communicate with you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:15, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good afternoon.Ikan Kekek I am very sorry for not replying to your message in time. I haven't seen your message in time as I haven't edited the wiki guide for a long time and have only recently returned to editing it. I appreciate the problems you pointed out, and I've detected the problem, so I've removed the unimportant content. Then I'd like to say that when I edited the WikiGuide I borrowed some of the titles that good articles have (e.g. Beijing) and edited them. Since I'm also an editor in the process of learning, your advice to me is much appreciated.Zhuo1221 (talk) 09:23, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since most of the time I can't see the messages and reply in time. So if you find a problem with me, you can make corrections in time to prevent the error from carrying on. I will pay attention to the suggestions you gave me in my future edits. Once again, thank you very much for your help. Zhuo1221 (talk) 09:44, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good afternoon Ikan Kekek.
Firstly I didn't paste and copy the content elsewhere. I made the edits after borrowing from the categories of topics (e.g. Beijing, Taiwan) that some of the better finished articles have. Secondly I have taken the issues you mentioned seriously and corrected them. Then I would like to say that I have no disrespect for you, I respect every editor. Maybe because of the language difference I don't understand where I have not respected you. I am an editor who is learning, and for my own editing on Wikivoyage maybe I will have some problems but I am taking it seriously. Finally, thank you very much for asking my questions, I will take them seriously and improve them.Zhuo1221 (talk) 09:41, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good afternoon Ikan Kekek.I am very sorry for not noticing the spaces earlier. Thanks for the heads up, I'll take care of it in future edits.^^ Zhuo1221 (talk) 09:26, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your replies. I'm glad you are not violating any copyrights. What I mean by "respect the edits I made and at least discuss whether it's best to put longer text I cut down back into articles" is not to put long text I edited down back into an article without starting a thread on the article's talk page explaining why you think your version is more useful to travelers than my edited version. You literally restored your long version without comment, and evidently without reading any of the edit summaries you can see if you click on the "View history" tab of the article. Good afternoon. Thanks for the heads up as well as the advice. I'll take care of that in future edits.Zhuo1221 (talk) 05:01, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
