Welcome, and an invitation to reply to a deletion request thread

[edit source]

Hello Salgo60! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Thank you very much for enthusiastically plunging forward to add content to this site, but please note some of the important differences between this travel guide and Wikipedia, an encyclopedia; please have a look at Wikivoyage:External links, which prohibits links to secondary sources with few exceptions and forbids footnoted citations; please read Wikivoyage:What is an article and Wikivoyage:Avoid long lists; and then please post your thoughts on the Wikivoyage:Votes for deletion#Stockholm Archipelago Trail - replipunkt. Thanks!

All the best,

Duplicate parameters

[edit source]

Yesterday I removed some duplicate parameters from two listings to remove the page from Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls, but today the page is again listed in that category due to new errors having been added. Duplicate parameters most often occur when a listing has parameters set out in a random order, as is the case here, rather than the standardised parameter order most usually used on the rest of the page and throughout most of the site. -- 92.23.56.65 07:14, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Multiple listings now have duplicate type= parameters. Multiple listings now have duplicate wikidata= parameters. Please fix what you can. -- 92.23.56.65 12:30, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I know that but I have more things going on I will add about 300 WD objects so the cleaning will be done afterwards https://w.wiki/EEQd - Salgo60 (talk) 12:44, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Listings need to be usable from the moment they are added. It is therefore far better to fix known errors as the entry is added, or as soon after as possible. -- 92.23.56.65 13:18, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you send me messages all the time I never will be ready ;-) as I have more than 300 items that will be added there will be more problems comming.... yesterday I lost 2 hours of edit when you changed things and now I have to change the tactic so things are not overwritten/lost... please be patient its wikivoyage not a space mission.... ;-) - Salgo60 (talk) 13:28, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I wanted to kindly suggest that it might be easier if you created a Wikivoyage account and contributed as a logged-in user. Having an account allows for better communication, keeps track of your edits more efficiently, and helps build a stronger collaboration with other editors. User ban nomination

[edit source]

Tjena, I'm here to inform you of the nomination I said I'd make. Feel free to chime into the discussion at Wikivoyage:User ban nominations#Salgo60. Wauteurz (talk) 09:11, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

No problem—though I must say, the quality of Wikivoyage leaves much to be desired. From what I’ve seen in the current article, your contributions have added more confusion than clarity. You’re more than welcome to walk the trail yourself and fact-check what you’ve written, and perhaps then you can explain why anyone would need to rent a car or a boat to walk the trail....
It feels like your intentions aren’t aligned with the interests of travelers. The trail is already challenging enough to navigate, and the logistics between sections are difficult without added complications.
Frankly, I’m unsure what your agenda is—but it certainly doesn’t seem to be about providing up-to-date, reliable, and helpful information for travelers.
I have no interest in debating your suggestions, and I sincerely hope the articles will be removed to prevent further confusion for travelers.
Best of luck with whatever your objective may be and I hope someone will fact check what is written....
