German WT / Admin-Votes
[edit]Hi Evan, you archived this message without a reply, thus I dig it out again, sorry:
Evan, the German Administrator nominations for Limbodancer and EBB have been present now for slightly more than a month. In this time both users have agreed to be admins, but even though I placed a call to vote on the top of the Mainpage, only 1 user voted beside me. Obviously we still have a democracy problem here. Now LimboDancer has 2 pro-votes and EBB 1, but I would like to ask you to please make them both admins. Have a look at their work up to now and see that they are good workers which continously come back (though not always often) and are present in discussions too. Their help would be really useful for me and the German wikivoyage. (WT-en) Denisoliver 21:11, 25 Feb 2005 (EST)
- These were done. Sorry for the delay. --(WT-en) Evan 13:43, 6 Mar 2005 (EST)
SVGZ
[edit]Hey Evan,
Would you mind adding svgz to our list of supported file types? I'm starting to work on some U.S. maps using Tigerline data, and they work out to be kindof big, so it would be a real help. -- (WT-en) Mark 05:52, 11 Mar 2005 (EST)
- I added svgz to the list of accepted MediaWiki types, but I don't know what Apache is going to do with .svgz files. Let me know if the upload works, and if you have a good idea for a MIME type. --(WT-en) Evan 08:35, 11 Mar 2005 (EST)
- Thanks! If my KDE desktop is right then .svgz should just be added to the list of extensions for image/svg+xml.
- Meanwhile, the main problem with the Tigerline data is that it covers whole U.S. counties. I'd prefer to do it by destination anyhow, but so far neither Sodipodi nor Inkscape want to play nice with selecting, copying, and pasting a section of a map, so I guess I'll leave the source files whole (for now). -- (WT-en) Mark 09:23, 11 Mar 2005 (EST)
Regarding Gonetoguides.com domains and content
[edit]Hi Evan,
I sent you an email last week regarding the updates to the goneto domains but the message got bounced back, so I thought I would try to reach you this way instead. Here is a copy of the email. Please get back to me when you can. Also, please pass this message onto Jani, I sent a copy but didn't hear back. BTW, we've updated about 36 countries so far with the credit block, so please get back to me right away with any problems so I can fix it before doing too many more.
Thanks, Stephen Joyce

Hi Evan,
We have updated the terms and conditions to reflect the Wikivoyage content. It can be viewed at http://www.worldfactguide.com/index.php?pageId=2. I have also added a credit block on the following site http://www.gonecanadian.com. Can you please review this page and make sure that the attribution and author credits are appropriate. If this page is okay, we will make the same changes on all other Wiki derived content pages.
Kind Regards, Stephen Joyce Secret Agent Enterprises Inc.
Meet-Up
[edit]Hi mate, sorry I couldn't make it to the meet-up. Nowadays I work on Mondays, and I'm in no position to miss one minute of work... Did a few people show up, and interesting conversations emerge? --(WT-en) Valmi 22:05, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)
(net http)
[edit]Hey Evan, I found a reference to a couple of guile modules that you wrote a few years ago, among them (net http). However, the link (http://evan.prodromou.san-francisco.ca.us/) was broken. Is (net http) still available? Or do you know of any similar projects I could find? I'm looking to a) learn guile, and b) as a learning exercise, write a script that automatically authenticates me with my school's firewall (has to be done daily), which is done through a webpage. So (net http) looked ideal. Regards, Jon <[email protected]>
Latest LanguageEn.php
[edit]Re: Wikivoyage_talk:LanguageJa.php, could you confirm that Project:LanguageEn.php is still up to date and/or update it if not? And is there a "LanguageUtf8.php" in the standard MediaWiki distribution? (WT-en) Jpatokal 02:25, 31 Mar 2005 (EST)
