Hello, Alessiaromano99! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.

If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage.

Even more relevantly, please read what not to link to. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:48, 28 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ikan, thank you for your earlier messages regarding the Antalya page. I completely understand the concerns about maintaining a non-promotional tone and I really appreciate the clarity. I'd love to make a small contribution again, but this time more neutral and in line with the guidelines. Would the following phrasing be acceptable for re-inclusion?
“Travellers visiting multiple sites across Antalya may find a city pass helpful. Options like the Antalya City Pass, such as those offered by platforms like MegaPass, typically include entry to museums and historic landmarks, plus discounts on boat tours and guided experiences.”
I’m also wondering if there’s a middle ground regarding including an external link. The only intention is to provide readers with a helpful travel planning tool, much like a local transit map or city tourist pass website. If it’s possible to include a clean, non-promotional URL (e.g. megapass.com/antalya), with no tracking or formatting, would that be acceptable? If not, I fully understand and will of course follow the guidance.
Thanks again for your time and consideration.
Best,

I appreciate your positive attitude, but did you read what not to link to? Both of those proposed edits, which link your site only, are promotional and violate those guidelines, and I would revert them and block this account without hesitation if you made them. But the other factor is that wikis run based on consensus, so if you want to try to get an exemption from the what not to link to guidelines, you can't do that by trying to negotiate with one person; you have to make an argument on the relevant article's talk (discussion) page, stating that your service in particular is somehow so indispensable that there should be a consensus to make an exception for it. Then you have to wait for the results of a discussion and still cannot act unless a consensus in favor of your proposal is reached. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:11, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also, your edit to the Athens guide was reverted per don't tout. If we have to do that again, we'll have to block your editing privileges. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:38, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
