Tulcea

Tulcea is in Romania and lies at the western 'entrance' of the Danube Delta.

The city is an approximately two-hour minibus ride away from Constanta bus station.

Train services are rather slow, there's several daily trains from Medgidia, taking three hours. At Medgidia it's possible to connect with Intercity trains from Constanta and Bucharest.

At the Tulcean riverside promenade there is an information centre on the Danube Delta-ecosystem, which is a UNESCO World Heritage-site. The information centre has with friendly, English-speaking staff.

• From Tulcea you can take a river-ferry toward Sulina (daily) and Sfântu Gheorghe (daily except Tuesday) on the Black Sea coast. The schedule of the boats is accessible by this URL.
