Documentation

This template is used to generate the banners used on the Main Page.

Usage

Parameters

Parameter		Description	Type	Default
Type	`type`	The feature category that the banner promotes, and the category that gets printed onto the template. Optional values `dotm` — Destination of the Month, `otbp` — Off the Beaten Path, `ftt` — Featured Travel Topic, `event` — Featured event, `feature` — Featured article, `fools` — April Fools article. Direction	`direction`	Which side of the image the text box should be aligned to. Accepted values `left` or `right`	String	`right`
Title	`title`	Required — The name of the featured article. Example Forillon National Park	String	Main Page
Alternate title	`alt-title`	The name of the featured article that gets printed onto the template. To be used when the default title is exceptionally long. "National Park" and "International" should be abbreviated to "NP" and "Int." respectively. Example Forillon NP	String	Optional
Width	`width`	The width of the text box as a percentage of the template's full width. Modifying this percentage should not be done unless strictly necessary, to uphold a consistent appearance.	Percentage between 40 and 60%	`45%`
Image	`image`	Required — The banner image without its "File:" prefix. Example Forillon National Park OtBP banner.jpg	File	Placeholder image
Quote	`quote`	Required — The text blurb describing the article. Example The final Land's End of Quebec's Gaspé Peninsula is where the mighty Chic-Choc Mountains collide head-on with the sea. Its unique landscape is an intoxicating juxtaposition of forests, mountains, and shore.	String	Placeholder blurb
