Merge with Abakaliki?[edit]

This place seems to because neighbourhood of Abakaliki. Would it be easier for readers if we merged the two articles and put all of the information in the same place? Ground Zero (talk) 04:05, 4 January 2022 (UTC) @Atibrarian: Ground Zero (talk) 12:38, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Support. On top of that, there also doesn't seem to be any place called Onuebonyi Echara from OpenStreetMap nor is there a Wikidata item for this place. The listings put in one place will also benefit the traveller. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:50, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Onuebonyi is distinct council from Abakaliki. Abakaliki town is located in Abakaliki Lacal Government Area while Onuebonyi Ochara is the administrative headquarters of Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
They are two different entity and merging them would not do any good from a travellers point of view.
User:SHB2000 note that not every info are available on Google Street.

Instead of merging I will suggest it be move to a more larger council area which is Ikwo. Atibrarian (talk) 13:07, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Atibrarian: We don't have an article for Ikwo. Will you create one, or should I merge this to Abakaliki as promised. Please note that Wikivoyage is organized according to what makes sense for travellers, rather than according to legal municipal boundaries. Ground Zero (talk) 14:54, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Let me create one for Ikwo. I believe that merging the article to Abakaliki might not be practical from a traveller view. Atibrarian (talk) 09:55, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Atibrarian: are you planning to do something with this article? I can't find enough information on Ikwo to create an article. Can you help? Ground Zero (talk) 13:55, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ground Zero: Ikwo seems to be a local government area per OSM. It's comprised of a few towns, but none seem to be of interest to travellers, so I prefer merging.
Atibrarian, we have very few articles on Wikivoyage that are organised solely based on municipal boundaries. They make Wikivoyage look too encyclopedic, and it is why an article like Montérégie is a perfect example of how using municipal boundaries make Wikivoyage dull and uninteresting to read.
I'm not overly convinced that using municipal boundaries will work in this case. Per w:Ikwo (local government) and a look at Google Maps and OpenStreetMap, there doesn't seem to be many points of interest that travellers would be interested in. So unless you can convince us that using local government areas makes sense for travellers, I prefer merging as all the information will be in one place. Merging seems the easiest option however, they are two distinct town. Atibrarian (talk) 17:58, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Ground Zero (talk) 21:21, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
