[edit | edit source]Trans are only available in Wuri. You usually arrive in 1 High Speed Rail station. of Wuri when accessing Taichug. The station provides the TRA and Taichung metro for local traffic in Wuri. You can easily access downtown Wuri by them. Be aware, however, stop at HSR Taichung Station (for metro) or TRA Xinwuri Station (for TRA), and do not stop at Wuri Station if you are going to the High Speed Rail Station. They are different to the Wuri station and cannot be easily accessed from each other on foot. Train announcements even notify this when trans are going to Wuri station.
By bus
[edit | edit source]By foot
[edit | edit source]Dali and Taiping can be accessed on foot from downtown if travellers arrive from the TRA Taichung station. The distance between Dali (or Taiping) and Taichung is around 3-4 km, and takes about 30-60 minutes to walk. Walking to Dali is generally fine, while you should be careful around the 74 expressway when walking to Taiping. Wefeng is further away from Taichung: Their distance is around 10 km and takes about two hours to walk.
While you can access downtown Wuri from the HSR station on foot, it can be hard because of the rivers and the 74 Expressway.
By car

The 74 Expressway links Dali, Taiping, and Wufeng, while Huanhe Road links Dali and Wuri. If you access Taichung by highway, go through the 74 Expressway at whichever interchanges you leave.
