  @ButteBag: The problem seems to be that neither of the two have P402 (OpenStreetMap relation ID) defined, which is the link that gives {{Mapshapes}} the line that the template ought to display. The how-to for fixing that can be found on Mapshape's documentation.

  Thank you for the help and speedy reply @Wauteurz! It seems the transclusion magic is happening on the OSM side. You can see the Providence line is working without an OSM relation ID. It was added directly to OSM instead. At least that's how I'm imagining it works. I've added P402 to the Lowell and Haverhill wikidata pages linked above, maybe it will inspire someone to fix things in a few years lol! Thanks again for the help, OSM is beyond my abilities!   No worries! I actually think the Providence/Stoughton Line takes its geometry from the KML-file that's linked, but I can't say for certain. I'll take care of linking back from OSM to Wikidata, which can break transclusions sometimes. Once that's done, you should see the lines appear in {{Mapshapes}} instances in a few days.

  I'll be honest, how {{Mapshapes}} works is sometimes a big question mark for me as well. I doubt it's the KML files in that case, as I hadn't noticed them in the Lowell and Haverhill lines' Wikidata entries yet. It's as much as a guess to me why Providence/Stoughton would work despite not linking to OSM as it is to you.
