Rosthern is a town of about 1,700 people in West Central Saskatchewan, Canada.

Rosthern roughly halfway between the cities of Prince Albert and Saskatoon. History, culture and the fine arts are showcased by the numerous community and nearby attractions.
Settlers began arriving around 1890, with the establishment of the Qu’Appelle, Long Lake & Saskatchewan Railway to Prince Albert. A post office was established in 1893.

- 1 Batoche National Historic Site, Batoche (26 km (16 mi) northeast of Rosthern on Highways 312 & 225), ☏ +1 306-423-622, toll-free: +1-888-773-8888, [email protected]. 9AM-5PM. The site of the historic Battle of Batoche during the Northwest Rebellion of 1885. The battle resulted in the defeat of Louis Riel and his Métis forces by Major General Frederick Middleton and his Northwest Field Force. Declared a National Historic Site in 1923, the visitor centre features a multimedia presentation about the history of the community and its inhabitants. There are several restored buildings with costumed interpreters who depict the lifestyles of the Métis of Batoche between 1860 and 1900. The sites include a Northwest Mounted Police encampment, a church and rectory complex, and a farm home. The sites are set at different locations around the community. The complex is open from mid-May through mid-September.

Theatre, 24-m viewing tower, parking and picnic areas and onsite gift shop featuring Glen Scrimshaw artwork. Bilingual tours.
- 3 Mennonite Heritage Museum, 7010 5th St (grounds of the Rosthern Junior College and German-English Academy). Jul 1 - Labour Day: Sa 10:30AM-4:30PM, Su 2-5PM. Museum exhibits the bust of Bishop David Toews, Mennonite leader and founder of the academy.
- 4 Seager Wheeler Maple Grove Farm (Seager Wheeler Farm National Historic Site) (9 km east of Rosthern on Hwy 312), ☏ +1 306-232-5959, [email protected]. May long weekend-Aug 31: daily 10AM-3PM. Maple Grove Farm, now known as the Seager Wheeler National Historic Site, was the home of Dr. Seager Wheeler, renowned for five World Wheat Championships. The site includes restored original buildings and grounds, gift shop, English flower gardens, orchards and 24 tree species. U-pick orchard with saskatoon berries, sour cherries and raspberries.
- 5 Russell Hanson's Mounted Police Museum, 420 Elevator Rd, Duck Lake (19 km (12 mi) north of Rosthern on Hwy 11), ☏ +1 306-467-4611. Museum features North-West Mounted Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police items from 1873 to the present day. Campground on site.
- 6 Saskatchewan River Valley Museum, 307 Railway St E, Hague, ☏ +1 306-225-2112, [email protected]. May long weekend-Labour Day: F-Su 1-5PM (open holiday Mondays). Showcases over 6,000 artifacts, depicting this area's heritage of the home, agriculture, religion and business. Collection includes local farming machinery, blacksmith and carpentry tools and an assortment of furniture and appliances. Settlement of the early Mennonites and Indigenous artifacts including arrowheads native to the area.

- 1 Fort Carlton Provincial Park (Fort Carlton National Historic Site) (45 km (28 mi) northwest of Rosthern via Hwys 11 & 212). A historic fur trade post on the North Saskatchewan River. Features a reconstructed palisade, fur and provisions store, trade store, clerks quarters and tepee encampment. The park also features hiking trails, a picnic area and small, rustic campground.
- Go to church. Church-going is apparently a popular past-time: this town of 1,700 people has 11 churches. Take your pick of denominations: Mennonite, Ukrainian Orthodox, Swedenborgian, Pentecostal, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Ukrainian Catholic, Lutheran, Seventh-day Adventist, Christian & Missionary Alliance, and Baptist.
