Paltamo is a municipality in the Eastern Oulu region, Finland.

Paltamo is 37 km (23 mi) from Kajaani and 145 km (90 mi) from Oulu near Lake Oulujärvi.

Get in[edit]

The nearest highway is the national road 22 between Oulu and Kajaani. In the village of Kontiomäki, Highway 5 (E63) runs between Kajaani and Kuusamo.

There are two railway stations in the municipality: 64.400527.82231 Paltamo railway station and 64.338628.11382 Kontiomäki railway station.
