Buses to Kondoa run daily from Dodoma. The drive takes about four hours, in good weather. Buses to Dodoma leave Kondoa in the morning at about 6AM.

Kondoa district is home to one of the largest collections of rock paintings in Africa, which are on the (UNESCO world heritage list). While there are a huge number of sites, most people visit three that are easily accessible from Kolo, a small village about 20 km north of Kondoa.
