Get in
[edit]From Banjul or Serekunda you can get a minibus that will drive you up the south bank road; just be sure to inform your driver when you'll need to get off.
The minibuses can be found at Bundung garage or Brikama garage, but remember to be patient, as they only start driving when full.
From the south bank road there are approximately 5 km to Janjanbureh, but a taxi may be available to drive you in to the city.

[edit]
- 1 Senegambian stone circles (22 km (14 mi) north-west of Lamin Koto, on the north bank just across from Janjanbureh). Spread out on both sides of the border between Gambia and Senegal the stone circles are thought to have been erected around the 8th century to mark grave sites. There are about 1,000 circles with one major concentration at the Gambian side which most visitors see. The stone circles were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2006.
- 2 River Gambia National Park. From Kuntaur just southwest of Wassu (but probably other places too), you can get a boat trip a few kilometres up river to the Baboon Islands on the Gambia River to see, among other things, chimpanzees. The islands are rich in animal life and lucky visitors will see many types of animals, including hippos and a plethora of birds.
