English: In the distance: The highest point of the Citadel of Ankara: an inner fortification called ‘Ak Kale’ (= White Castle). The present construction has been set up by the Byzantines, as early as the 7th century, and was restored when necessary, by Byzantines (at first) and Turcs (later on).
