Eynsford
Eynsford is a village of 1,800 people (2011) in Kent.
The village is near Brands Hatch – a race track in Kent, most famous for its circuit. It has grown from a modest natural amphitheatre used for local races in the 1920s into one of the UK’s major motor racing circuits. It hosted 12 British Grand Prix events between 1964 and 1986. The circuit remains a major venue, drawing fans from around the world to events like the British Touring Car Championship, British Superbike Championship, and GT World Challenge Europe. With both Grand Prix and Indy track layouts, it continues to be a versatile and thriving destination for motorsport.
Understand
[edit]In the centre of the village is a ford over the river, with a picturesque hump-back bridge alongside. There are many old buildings including the 16th-century Plough Inn and the Old Mill. The church is dedicated to St Martin.
