Eastern North 24 Parganas covers the eastern part of the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, along the Ichhamati River. It covers Bangaon and Basirhat subdivisions.
Cities
[edit | edit source]- 1 Bangaon (বনগাঁ Bongān) and 2 Petrapole (পেট্রাপোল Peṭrāpōl) — two towns near the India–Bangladesh border
- 3 Basirhat (বসিরহাট Bosirhāṭ) — a historical city near the Ichamati River, close to the Bangladesh border, known for its vibrant Durga Puja, education, excellent shopping streets and regional trade
- 4 Dhanyakuria (ধান্যকুড়িয়া Dhānyokuṛiyā) — known for the European-style Gaine Castle, but also contains a few other heritage buildings
- 5 Haroa (হাড়োয়া Hāṛōyā) — home to the shrine of Pir Gorachand
- 6 Hingalganj (হিঙ্গলগঞ্জ Hingolgonj) — the lesser-known part of the Sundarbans in West Bengal, along the Ichhamati River
- 7 Taki (টাকি Ṭāki) — a border town on the Ichhamati River, Taki is a scenic spot with beautiful views of the river
