Doab



Doab is the region in India between the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in the western and southwestern parts of Uttar Pradesh.

  • 3 Barsana and Nandgaon — Barsana is where Radha, the eternal consort of Krishna, is said to have lived
  • 6 Ghaziabad — industrial city just east of Delhi
  • 7 Hastinapur — ancient town of Mahabharata fame, with Jain shrines
  • 8 Khurja — the Ceramics City
  • 9 Kuchesar — village close to Delhi
  • 10 Mathura — known as the birthplace of Lord Krishna
  • 11 Meerut — famous for sport equipments like cricket bats, sweets like nankhatai and gazak, for being the starting point of the 1857 rebellion against British colonial rule, it is a large ancient city close to Delhi.
  • 12 Noida — satellite city of Delhi
  • 14 Saifai — a university city
  • 16 Vrindavan — holy city of Krishna's childhood, ISKCON (Hare Krishna) temples and windows
