Daraga is a landlocked municipality in the province of Albay and is flanked by Legazpi, the capital city and the municipality of Camalig. It hosts the Bicol International Airport and is known for the Cagsawa Ruins. This town is located alongside Asian Highway 26 and is one of the five municipalities that has a jurisdiction over the foothills of Mayon Volcano.

Daraga's name came from a Bikol word for maiden and thus came from the legend of Daragang Magayon, a beautiful maiden where the Mayon Volcano's name was taken. It is part of the urban sprawl emanating from Legazpi.

This is an international airport 15 km (9.3 mi) in barangay Alobo, which replaced the smaller and constrained airport in Legazpi. This airport has a runway long enough to support wide-body aircraft, and to accommodate international flights. Cebgo, Cebu Pacific and PAL Express has flights from Manila.

- 1 Cagsawa Ruins, Busay. The picturesque ruins of an old parish church on what was the town of Cagsawa. The original church was built in 1587 until it was burned down by Dutch pirates in 1636. A new church was again built in 1724 until it was destroyed by the devastating 1814 eruption of Mayon.

- 3 Nuestra Señora de la Porteria (Daraga Church), Santa Maria Street, Barangay San Roque. A baroque church built on volcanic lava. It has a perfect view of Mayon Volcano that seems to be a wall paper pasted beside the church.
- 4 Green Lava, Mi-isi. A grassland at the foot of a gully of Mayon Volcano accessible only via an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) tour.
- 5 National Museum of the Philippines - Bicol, Busay (inside the Cagsawa Ruins complex), ☏ +63 949 607 4283, [email protected]. 9AM-5PM. The regional branch of the National Museum of the Philippines system, featuring artefacts on Bicol's natural history, art, ethnography and culture. Free. Donation optional.
