Barreiro is a city and municipality on Portugal's Setúbal Peninsula. The city lies on the River Tagus across from Lisbon.

Transtejo Soflusa operate ferries to Barreiro from Terreiro do Paço (Praça do Comércio) in Lisbon.

Comboios de Portugal (CP) provide frequent trains from Setúbal and several other cities on the peninsula.

By car[edit]

Barreiro is served by the A33 motorway (CRIPS - Circular Regional Interior da Península de Setúbal). The A2 motorway (Autoestrada do Sul) skirts the southern edge of the municipality.
