[edit | edit source]- Arenzville Burgoo, Town Park. First Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. The village has had an annual burgoo-making festival for more than a century. Burgoo is a hearty stew once made with game meats like squirrel and venison, but now made with chicken, beef, or vegetables. The entire town chips in to make a huge batch in the park downtown. The festival includes games and parades as well as lots of burgoo to eat on site or take home with you. Free (burgoo costs money, though).
