Alsen is a small town in the Red River Valley, in northeastern North Dakota. It had a population of about 30 people in 2019. Coordinates are Latitude 48.63N & Longitude 98.59W.

[edit | edit source]This town was founded in 1889, and was originally named Storlie, after several local families of Norwegian origin. Several Danish families who had settled in the area renamed it after Alsen Island in Denmark.
