Gaétan Veillette (alias "Veillg1" on Wikimedia) is a geographer, historian, biography writer, financier, and media personality. He has published over 25,000 articles in various media outlets, including approximately 6,000 on Wikimedia-affiliated platforms, primarily Wikipedia and Wikivoyage. He is increasingly involved with Wiki Commons.

He created or revised the majority of Quebec's rivers on Wikipedia (French) and the majority of Quebec's municipalities and cities on Wikivoyage. He is recognized for the rigor of his research, particularly in historical and geographical matters. He is passionate about Quebec.

He is also a staunch defender of the universality of major social media, the editorial rigor of contributors, and a self-regulatory justice system centered on a harmonious and functional established order.
