Македонски: Велигденското јајце црквата го прифатила во својата традиција и практика како симбол на Христовото воскресение. Првите Христијани и современици на апостолите почнале да вапцуваат јајца и да ги подаруваат на Велигден, поздравувјаќи се со радосниот поздрав Христос Воскресе! На тоа отпоздравувале: Вистина воскресе!

Така поздравувајќи се, првиот ја соопштува веста за Христовото воскресение, додека вториот ја потврдува, а всушност и двајцата ја исповедуваат својата вера во Воскресението.

Црвената боја има симболика на победа. Нејзиното значење на овој голем Христијански празник е дека Господ Исус Христос со своето воскресение ја победил смртта. Црвената боја ја претставува божјата сила и моќ, а воедно ја симболизира и Христовата крв, која Исус ја пролеал на крстот за спасение на сите луѓе на земјава. Бојата на јајцето не потсетува и на крвта Христова и на спасението.
English: The Easter egg was adopted by the church in its tradition and practice as a symbol of Christ's resurrection. The first Christians and contemporaries of the apostles began to paint eggs and give them as gifts on Easter, greeting each other with the joyful greeting "Christ is Risen!" To which they responded: "Truly He is Risen!"

By greeting each other in this way, the first announces the news of Christ's resurrection, while the second confirms it, and in fact both confess their faith in the Resurrection.

The color red has a symbolism of victory. Its meaning on this great Christian holiday is that the Lord Jesus Christ, with his resurrection, defeated death. The color red represents God's strength and power, and also symbolizes the blood of Christ, which Jesus shed on the cross for the salvation of all people on earth. The color of the egg reminds us of both the blood of Christ and salvation.
