English: Church of St Thomas, Llandudoch/St Dogmaels This is the mid-C19 version of the mediaeval church of St Thomas which was moved on to the abbey site in the C17 to replace an earlier church dedicated to St Dogmael/Dogfael who may have founded a Celtic monastery here in the sixth century. The Welsh name for the village however commemorates the even older and more shadowy Saint Tudoc and dates back to the first century AD when Vikings raided the area.
