Hello Dkallen78! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

• NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
• be bold → plunge forward
• Village pump → travellers' pub
• External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
• sandbox → graffiti wall
• stub tagging → Article status

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Thanks a lot for your edits to Mexico State, but the lists that were externally linked had to be removed per site policy on external links. If those links are to the sites' own web pages or otherwise official (governmental), they could be put in the URL tabs of templated listings] for these sites in articles about the towns closest to them. They can certainly be mentioned in an article for a state, but not with external links.

I get where you guys are coming from but I don't think this is a place for me. I put some work into all that and it was deleted, not fixed, and I wasn't given an opportunity to fix it either. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that I don't want to taste again. In the future, maybe give people 48 hours to correct it instead of deleting their work and making them do it again. Good luck in the future.

I'm sorry to hear that us undoing your edit made you feel that way. You are, of course, free to undo the deletion and bring the information back sans external links - nothing is ever truly deleted from a wiki. If you decide to stick around and edit, you would be very welcome to, and we'd be quite willing to help with any concerns you had. At the end of the day, the traveller comes first, and we'd like nothing more for that information to have a place on Wikivoyage. I hope you reconsider.
