Hello, 146.23.20.105! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.

Thank you very much for updating the Rockport (Texas) article! However, as a new user, there are some points of Wikivoyage style you are quite reasonably not yet familiar with:

(1) The name of a town, when it's the same as the article title, is not included, nor is other default address info, so "Rockport, TX 78382" should be omitted from addresses you put in the address tabs of listings.

(2) Don't copy and paste content from other sites, especially when they are "copyright, all rights reserved" (text from Wikipedia or other Creative Commons sites can be copied when appropriate, with credit given in edit summaries you type in the "Summary" box below your edit screen, but even in such cases, summaries or paraphrases are better). Moreover, that's especially true if the content is promotional. So this should be edited or replaced:

"The Mission of the Texas Maritime Museum is to educate and excite the public about maritime history and its importance to the development and current livelihood of our great state."

In general, I would say that travelers don't care what the mission of a museum is but are interested to know what they can see there. And as concerns the word "our," unless it refers to Wikivoyage, we don't use it here.

Let me know if you have any questions, and please carry on, because these things can be edited later, but content is the lifeblood of this site.

All the best,

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users.
