I'm retired in the southwestern US. I do a moderate amount of traveling, mostly in the US, but I'm able to travel abroad every few years. My foreign travel has been:
- 1980s
- UK (London, Edinburgh)
- Italy (Florence, Naples)
- France (Paris, D-Day beaches)
- Sweden (Stockholm)
- 1990s
- France (Paris, D-Day beaches, Verdun, Cannes, St. Tropez)
- Italy (Rome, Florence)
- 2006
- Aegean cruise with Louis Lines (Istanbul, Athens, Rhodes, Patmos, Mykonos, Crete, Ephesus)
- 2010
- England (Warwick Castle, Cambridge, Imperial War Museum Duxford)
- 2015
- Viking river cruise, Budapest to Amsterdam, including Vienna and Cologne
- 2017
- Viking tour/cruise, South Korea (Seoul), China (Beijing, Great Wall (Badaling area), Xian (Terracotta Warriors), Lhasa, Yangtze River, Shanghai), Japan (Tokyo)
- 2018
- Viking ocean cruise, NYC, Bermuda, St. Kitts, Saint Lucia, Curaçao, Aruba, Jamaica (Montego Bay), Grand Cayman, Miami
In the US, I grew up in coastal New England, and have been to many tourist destinations there. In recent years I've been to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sedona, and Las Vegas. I lived near Washington, DC for years, and have been to many of the Civil War battlefields from Fredericksburg, VA to Gettysburg, PA.
I will be referring to Viking Cruises, both river and ocean. I have no direct COI, but I've been on three major itineraries with them and have been very satisfied.
