Monopoli is characterised by a lot of typical products. You can easily find the shopping area because most of stores are around the main square Vittorio Emanuele II: clothes, shoes, jewelry, toy, electronics and much more, so it won’t be difficult to buy a gift for you, for your children or for your parents.

Most of them are open 6 days a week from 9:00-13:00 and 17:00-20:30 but during christmas period and in the summer, they are open even 7 days a week.

If you have the opportunity to visit the city and you are a fish lover, at first, as of ancient tradition, you must know that you can buy some fresh fish directly from fishing boats from the Port, not far from the main square.

Typical delicious food that you can find in the city such as oil, wine, olives, capers, vegetables in oil, cheese, “friselle”, “taralli” (crunchy baked goods made with flour mixes) and much more can be bought in small shops selling local products like “Azienda Agricola Annese” in Vittorio Emanuele II square, “Olio e vino” and “La finestra sul mare” in Porto street and two corners after “Frantoio Pacello” shop, all in the Old Town.

Handcrafted objects, local souvenirs and ceramics are widespread in Monopoli; in every single corner of the city you might find shops like that. Just outside the city, in Baione street, there is “Souvenir Planet”. So if you have a car available you must go there and buy a miniature model of  “Gozzo”, typical boat blue and red handpainted!

In Giuseppe Garibaldi street there are some small clothes shop and a amazing handmade jewelry shop.
