I am an American nuclear engineer living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2010, 2011, and 2013 I arranged in-depth, small-group excursions to the Chernobyl area for similarly-interested people, with an emphasis on the nuclear power plant itself. In 2012 I visited the Semipalatinsk Test Site in Kazakhstan. I have traveled to Japan, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, England, Canada, and various countries in continental Western Europe. WikiVoyage is an amazing resource and I am sure it is destined to become widely known as the final word in travel knowledge in the future. Although my own travel knowledge is quite specialized, I welcome communications from people seeking information or background about places I've been, and I welcome invitations to join in future adventures.
I maintain a blog detailing travel and other nuclear adventures at http://carlwillis.wordpress.com. I answer email sent to [email protected]. I particularly welcome inquiries relating to nuclear tourism. I may also be found on Couchsurfing.org.
