Ciudad Rodrigo is a city located in the southeast of the Province of Salamanca.

Ciudad Rodrigo is located 90 km (50 mi) from the Portuguese border and 40 km (25 mi) north of Extremadura. It has a population of roughly 15,000 and is the commercial and administrative center of the region. The city is one of the largest examples of 17th century Spanish military architecture in all of the Iberian Peninsula.
