Wuyuan lies in the center of the "Tourist Goden Triangle" formed by the Yellow Mountain(Anhui Province),Mt Lushan and Jingdezhen,China's "Porcelain Capital"(Jiangxi Province).The distance between the above 3 places is basically same,within 150km.Tourists from Bejing and Nanjing can take a train and get off at Yellow Moutain,then take a local tour bus heading for Wuyuan.Tourists from Shanghai and Zhejiang can take a train to Jingdezhen,and take a tour bus to Wuyuan,the distance is about 85km. There is no train station in Wuyuan at this moment.However,there are regular buses from many larger cities,such as Huangshan,Nanchang,Shanghai,Hanzhou,Guanzhou,Wenzhou.

There are many regular buses from Wuyuan North Bus Station to Villages. Taxis and motorcycles are common also,but price is more expensive.Make sure the price before taking it.A trip from Wuyuan County to Small Likeng usually costs ¥30 by taxi and around ¥15 by motorcycle.

There are many ancient villages typical of Hui-Style Architecture throughout this region.Most of scenic spots will need an admission.You'd better buy a special ticket at ¥180 that grants admission to all the appointed sites,otherwise entry into any village might charge a single tikect at ¥60.

I. The eastern tour line: Small Likeng(小李坑）---­­­Wangkou（汪口）---Xiaoqi（晓起）---Jiangwan（江湾）

Small Likeng—— A historical village of stream-bridge-cottage scene. It is the most rewarding and impressive village in Wuyuan.A winding stream runs through the village,on both sides of the bank closely standing 260 peasant households and ancient buildings with gray walls and black tiles.Ladies wash clothes by the creek while boats are advancing forward.All of these form a natural landscape.

Wangkou. “Wangkou Memorial Temple of the Yu Clan” is honored as an “Architectural Gallery” by ancient building experts for its magnificence, strict construction and precise craftsmanship and special style, all the parts made of wood were carved precisely and specially. Traveling in wangkou, you can walk in the millennial ancient streets, enjoy the sight of the old houses, and even drift in the long river.

Xiaoqi——Ecological Oases. It is a village built in the Song Dynasty, there are many special ancient buildings with its splendor and precise craftsmanship.Many famous ancient trees scatter all over the village, all these picturesque landscape depicting the harmony of people and nature.

Jiangwan——It is the hometown of the Great Man Jiang Zhemin,the former President of China.

II. The northern tour line: Sixi（思溪）—Rainbow Bridge（彩虹桥）—Linyan caves（灵岩洞）—Dazhanshan Mountain（大鄣山）

Sixi. There 30 ancient buildings are well preserved, built between the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty. In one of such residences, a “Bai Shuo Tu”(百寿图，a hundred Chinese characters on longevity) is made of 96 characters in different handwritten styles, carved in the middle of twelve doors, which is regarded as “the unexcelled art”.

Rainbow Bridge is a provincial landmark, built at the beginning of Song Dynasty, with length of 140 meters, a width of 6.5 meters, four piers and archways. It crosses the river like a rainbow. The eleven pavilions in different ways make a long corridor. It is simple and unsophisticated. There are corrals and seats on the both sides for tourists to have a view and a rest.

Linyan caves——the National Forest Park, there two caves named “Lianhua”and “Hanxu”have been developed,full of jagged stones, underground river with clear water. Many inscriptions were written inside by Zhuxi(a famous philosopher) and Yuefei(a well-known ancient general), all of which are valuable relics.

III.The western tour line: Wengong Hill（文公山）—Jingshan Tea Garden（金山茶园）—Mandarin Ducks Lake（鸳鸯湖）—Youshan Village（游山村）—Yanchun Ancient Stage of Chinese Drama（阳春古戏台）.

Very few local People can speak English except some who arewell-educated,such as college students and teachers.

Varieties of souvenirs

A kind of red carp is native to Wuyuan.It's said tourists can have the best taste of the fish at Bridge Hotel in small Likeng.

Bar and Teahouse

There are plenty of hotels in Wuyuan city (downtown).However, what is suggested is some cheap and comfortable accommodation in the villages where you can taste the life of local villagers.Price is around ¥80 per night with condition as good as the ones in Wuyuan city .

A very nice place to stay and eat,kinds of local dishes, especialy good at cooking the red carp mentioned above.Tidy and neat rooms equipped with bathroom, TV and air conditioner.free Internet access. A patio area on the top floor where clothes can be washed and dried.Friendly and hospitable family,the youngest son of the family can speak English to communicate with foreiners.We stayed there for 3 nice nights.

Regular buses from the North Bus Station to many cities. Two daily buses to Shanghai, at 9:30AM and 6:30PM, price around ¥175.
