Brahmagiri, Situated in the Karnataka - Kerala border Brahmagiri is part of the beautiful western Ghats. At 1608 Mts the peak give the scenic view of the range across Karnataka - Kerala. The base of the hill has the amazing Irrapu Falls or Lakshmana Tirtha by its local name. According to legend, when Rama and Lakshmana were searching for Sita, they became thirsty. Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri from which the river sprang and eventually flows into the river Kaveri.
Brahmagiri range comes under the Brahmagiri Santuary, that is rich in its flora & fauna, the shola-grassland terrain with several streams and fall en-route is a treat to any nature lover, and Brahmagiri trek is one of the most popular treks in Karnataka.
