Best place for this?
[edit]The specific info here seems useful - but surely people are going to be looking for the information on how to cheaply cross specific borders in the Get in section of the appropriate country articles, and not here? --(WT-en) inas 19:23, 7 January 2010 (EST)
- Your argument seems reasonable. But on the other hand, as each piece of information is common to two countries, it would be necessary to keep a duplicate of the same text in both articles. Plus, sometimes the information could fit in even within an article about a particular place, if that lies next to a border, such as Bratislava. Any ideas on how to solve this out? Perhaps providing a link "for information on how to cross the border cheaply, see...", or including the same information in several articles by means of a template? - I don't think it is a hassle to duplicate this info in two countries. Since we are still trying to support printed guides, providing a link, even if an internal one, seems fussy. --(WT-en) inas 16:38, 8 January 2010 (EST)
- Support Inas here, linking to these sections from GetIns of respective articles should be a minimal measure. Moving country-specific sections to respective articles seems even better idea. What about using wikimedia templates for dealing with the duplication? --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 16:14, 19 January 2010 (EST)
- That's not an approved use of templates, largely because they're too confusing for newbies to change. Also, crossing from X to Y is not always the same as crossing from Y to X. (WT-en) Jpatokal 20:56, 19 January 2010 (EST)
- The duplication would be very small anyway. Templates would not be required. The info should still be moved though. --(WT-en) inas 23:24, 19 January 2010 (EST)
- Jani, but how is it very different from Template:Schengen, for example? --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 11:45, 20 January 2010 (EST)
