I'm really not liking this Beaches(Place) thing. Are we going to have Beaches(Ko Samui) and Beaches (Maine) and Mountains(Switerland) too? Why can't this be Los Angeles/Beaches (ie a district) or just have Los Angeles (Beachy District Name) and then link to it from a list of goo beaches in the LA area? (WT-en) Majnoona

So, I think you're under the mistaken assumption that the beaches near Los Angeles are all part of the city of Los Angeles. Some are; most are their own cities. I think the disconnect we're having is that Ron's using Los Angeles for the whole Los Angeles Basin (HEY... that might be a good name for the region!), while we're thinking of it as the city itself. The really crappy part is that Los Angeles is this totally octopus city -- it has little parts running all over Southern California. Sorry Ron, this is the real trickey part of doing a travel guide. I'm in Library school right now and geographical cataloging is a real pain!
