Nice idea for an itinerary!--(WT-en) Burmesedays 22:48, 27 February 2010 (EST)

Consolidation?

[edit]

We currently have this itinerary, One month in Southeast Asia, Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City overland, Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai overland, Overland to Tibet, Yunnan tourist trail, Overland Kunming to Hong Kong & perhaps a few I have missed. Some of those have not been edited in several years.

I'd like to see an itinerary on the route from Bangkok to Kunming via Vientiane. There is some info in the Yunnan tourist trail itinerary, but I think it is out of place there.

We once had others in the region, but they were deleted: Wikivoyage:Votes_for_deletion/April_2011#Overland_from_Singapore_to_Bangkok and Wikivoyage:Votes_for_deletion/May_2011#Overland_from_Singapore_to_Shanghai. At one point there was a rather long and messy discussion Wikivoyage_talk:Itineraries#Should_itineraries_overlap.3F.

Should some of these be reorganised? Deleted? Merged into others? Can anyone suggest a decent overall plan here? Pashley (talk) 20:09, 3 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bribing advice

[edit]

Is this in violation of our illegal activities policy?

And don't argue with Thai police when they ask for traffic infringement fines. Hand over 500 baht and walk away.

When a payoff is demanded, it's extortion not bribery. The traveller would be the victim. Though, I did find this advice to be out of place in an article overall. Submachine0 (talk) 03:49, 13 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
You're right. Does anyone object to deleting the advice? Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:50, 13 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
