Nykarleby



Nykarleby (Finnish: Uusikaarlepyy) is a town and municipality in Ostrobothnia.

Most (89%) of Nykarleby's approximately 7400 inhabitants are native Swedish speakers. The town is famous as the home of writer Zacharias Topelius (1818-1898).

By car or bus. The railway per se isn't so far away but the closest station is that of Jakobstad, in Bennäs.
