Lhaviyani



Lhaviyani (also known as Faadhippolhu Atoll) is an atoll in Maldives. It's the northernmost atoll which is open to tourism in the country.

Understand[edit]

The capital island of Lhaviyani Atoll is Naifaru. The atoll has 54 islands of which only 5 are inhabited: namely Naifaru, Hinnavaru, Kurendhoo and Olhuvelifushi. They are home to about 12,000 people

Get in[edit]

There is a ferry service operated by MTCC 5 days per week. The ferry goes between Lh. Olhuvelifushi, Lh.Naifaru and the ferry will also stop at Lh. Kurendhoo, Lh.Felivaru and Lh.Hinnavaru. All of the Resorts in the Lhaviyani atoll can be reached by seaplane from Velena International Airport, which takes 20-30 minutes. Speedboat transfers are available at a few resorts which normally would take a couple of hours and are not advised as the sea is usually rough when crossing Male atoll to Lhaviyani atoll.
