Description
English: Representation of the scene of "The Queimada" in Sacavem Medieval Fair, September 2009. The witch at the top of the platform was preparing a punch made from Galician aguardiente - a spirit distilled from wine and flavoured with special herbs or coffee, plus sugar, lemon peel, coffee beans and cinnamon that is called "The Queimada". While preparing the punch the witch recited a spell or incantation, so that special powers are conferred to the queimada and those drinking it. Then the queimada is set alight, and slowly burns as more brandy is added.
Português: Representação da cena da "Queimada", na Feira Medieval de Sacavém,Setembro de 2009. A bruxa no topo da plataforma estava a preparar um ponche feito de aguardente galego - um espírito de vinho e aromatizado com ervas especiais ou de café, além de açúcar, casca de limão, café e canela, que é chamado de "A Queimada". Ao preparar o soco a bruxa recitou um feitiço ou encantamento, para que sejam conferidos poderes especiais para a queimada e os beber. Então, a queimada é incendiada, e, lentamente, como queimaduras mais brandy é adicionado.
