Summary
DescriptionGarden City Skyway, September 1963.png
English: The Garden City Skyway in St. Catharines, Ontario carries the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) over the Welland Canal. This photo was taken in September 1963, just weeks before the skyway opened to traffic on October 18. The original route of the QEW is to the left and visible in the background, still inhibited by a non-grade-separated three lane stretch plagued by frequent 20 minute delays - The low-level crossing of the canal is raised to permit passage of the incoming ship; lineups of traffic are patiently queued on both sides.
