Summary

Description "I got a call from a friend telling me the Gem was locked in her slip at Ellstrom's dock (near Gills Rock) by a huge pile of ice that was pushed in by the high winds of Saturday. The pile was about 15 to 20 feet high and had the Gem virtually buried." and "Strong and willing hands chopped her out with enough space to maneuver. Then under the guidance of her captain, Frank Teske, who is one of the most skillful navigators I've ever seen, she huffed and puffed back and forth for a couple hours, ramming into that seemingly immovable mountain of ice. It was like watching the battle of David and Goliath." From the Door County Advocate, March 20, 1973
