Summary

Description
English: Cape of Good Hope and Dias Beach on the south-westerly tip of Africa some 50 km south of Cape Town which was originally named the "Cape of Storms" by the Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias. Nominally it extends into the Atlantic Ocean which carries the cold Benguela Current, but at times the turning point of the warmer Agulhas Current shifts several hundred kilometres westwards and it flows past the headland.
