Summary
DescriptionAln Valley Railway yard, Longhoughton (7) - geograph.org.uk - 1365000.jpg
English: Aln Valley Railway yard, Longhoughton (7) Until closure in 1968, a branch line ran to Alnwick from Alnmouth on the east coast mainline. Now the Aln Valley Railway Society plans to re-open the branch line on the disused trackbed of the branch. The organisation has a base at the site of the former goods yard at Longhoughton on the east coast mainline where track and rolling stock is stored. This photo shows one of the Aln Valley Railway Society's locomotives, a Ruston shunter, in the depot.
