Description
English: The sculpture Martydom of an Abbot or Bishop in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum. It is made out of polychromed limewood and it depicts an unknown, probably tortured to death saint, whose intestines are eaten by wild boars. The sculpture was made around 1500 in Ulm by the circle of Michael Erhart.
Deutsch: Die Skulptur Martyrium eines Abts oder Bischofs im Germanisches Nationalmuseum. Es besteht aus farbig gefassten Lindenholz und stellt einen unbekannten, wahrscheinlich zu Tode gefolterten Heiligen dessen Gedärme von Wildschweinen gegessen werden. Die Skluptur entstand um 1500 und stammt aus Ulm und dem Kreis von Michael Erhart.
