English: A Soap Box Derby racer piloted by Doug Hoback who raced in Valparaiso and Gary, Indiana. Doug died from cancer that had for several months a day after his final race in 1956, the news of it reaching newspapers across the US and Canada. The extant car was exhibited at the 3rd Annual Vintage Derby Car Show, which showcases vintage Soap Box Derby cars and memorabilia, in Akron, Ohio on July 19. 2024. It appeared courtesy a private collector from Akron.
