Name: Safari Memorial, Metula
Description: The Safari Martyrs' Memorial is located in Metula, at the entrance to the National Park, and is dedicated to the memory of the 12 IDF martyrs who were killed in the Safari disaster on March 10, 1985, when a car bomb exploded in a safari vehicle in Lebanon. The memorial includes a plaque detailing the event and a tall rock surrounded by 12 small basalt boulders.

תיאור: אנדרטת חללי הספארי נמצאת במטולה, בכניסה לגן הלאומי, והיא מוקדשת לזכר 12 חללי צה"ל שנהרגו באסון הספארי ב-10 במרץ 1985, כאשר פיצוץ מכונית תופת פגע ברכב מסוג ספארי בלבנון. האנדרטה כוללת לוח פרטי אירוע וסלע גבוה מוקף ב-12 סלעי בזלת קטנים.
הערות: האנדרטה מסמלת את הקשר, האחווה והמשפחתיות בין החיילים שהיו אחד המאפיינים העיקריים בסדנה. קשר הדוק זה בא לידי ביטוי בשרשרת שבאנדרטה המחברת את שמות החיילים אל סמל היחידה. האנדרטה תוכננה על ידי האדריכל ישראל גודוביץ, במקום שניתן על ידי המועצה המקומית מטולה ורשות שמורות הטבע. העמדת הסלע התבצעה על ידי מחצבות כפר גלעדי, עבודות המתכת נעשו במרכז שיקום ואחזקה חיפה, וגימור העבודה נעשה על ידי סדנת קריית שמונה.
